Alternative Certification for Teachers(ACT), Teacher Certification EC-4 Bilingual

When I was growing up I wanted to be a juvenile probation officer to be a positive influence in the lives of adolescence. That led me to get my degree in Criminal Justice. After completing my internship in the Juvenile Probation Department ,I realized that I could impact the lives of children at an earlier age by being a teacher.

I got my teacher certification through a program called Alternative Certification for Teachers (ACT). I did my student teaching at Gillette Elementary. After my student teaching I became a substitute and was the reading bilingual tutor for Gillette Elementary. The knowledge and experience I gained at Gillete helped me become a well rounded teacher.

I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. I am the youngest of three children. I enjoy spending time with my family which includes  a beautiful VERY energetic four year old daughter. When I have time to myself I enjoy getting lost in a good book.
