Experience

Employee at Harlandale ISD- Since 1998.

Currently servicing students who have been identified with Dyslexia. Providing support to students in Reading, Writing, and Math.

Spelling Bee Coordinator.

Commendable teaching experience at the elementary level with reputation for excellent student learning outcomes; creative teaching instruction; lesson planning; and quality classroom management skills.

Volunteer – successfully organized and managed monthly reading initiatives and supervised student team performance in its  first win at the elementary level [Destination Imagination].

Possessing problem solving skills – courageously overcomes challenges in the classroom, campus, and community. Committed to high quality education.

Initiated and organized a first ever monthly program at a previous campus involving parents and community leaders in an effort to encourage students to read. Networking with outside agencies and H.E.B. Classroom Champions in an effort to promote awareness of a reading program.

 



Bio

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas.

Y100 Teacher of the week,2005. Teacher of the Year 2010-2011.

Founder of A Sole Experience. Educators and Community Leaders participate in this tennis shoe benefit for single parent children. In 2016 the focus was drawn to provide socks. 

Former Relay for Life Captain. PTA Life Member.

Las Comadres- a gathering of  professional female educators who discuss Latino authored books and encourage students in making connections with similar type books. 

Member of the San Antonio Hispanic Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Participate and lead in church related activities and organizations.

Enjoy reading, going to the movies, cooking, traveling, listening to music and always welcome spending time with family and friends.
